With profound sadness and broken hearts, the loving family of David Hobbs announce his peaceful passing on Wednesday, July 24th at the Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital. David fought with courage, dignity and incredible strength for 5 and half months during his stay at the Ottawa Civic hospital. David was born in Ottawa and was the eldest child of his adored mother, Natalina Hobbs, who he was the primary caregiver for the past decade. He is pre-deceased by his father, Borden B. Hobbs (1982). David will be dearly missed by brother Wayne and sister, Karen Hobbs-Thomson (Gordon). Proud ‘funky-unky’ to nieces and nephews; Christopher & Mallory Hobbs and Alexander & Alayna Thomson. David had a special affection for them who brought him so much laughter and joy. He will be greatly missed by his BFF Tracy Millar (Steph) and buddy Seany, who are dear to his heart.

David was a retired sales rep for Sony of Canada where he worked for 25 years. He was passionate about music, played in a few bands over the years and loved to jam with his friends at any opportunity. David loved watching the kids play sports, taking his mom for drives and spending summer months at his friends & sister’s cottage. He will be remembered for his great wit, great conversations and his vibrant personality.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses for their compassion and care at the Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital in the final days of David’s life journey. A special thanks to his friend, Dr. Debra Dunlop who provided friendship and support to the family.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Cole Funeral Services & Pinecrest Remembrance, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. A Celebration of Dave’s Life will take place in the Pinecrest Solarium on Thursday, August 1, 2019 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Family and friends are encouraged to dress in bright, casual attire for the Celebration of Life.
