Chloe Jennifer Graf
March 8, 1991 - September 14, 2017
GRAF, Chloe Jennifer
Our wonderful daughter, Chloe Jennifer Graf, passed away on the evening of September 14, peacefully in her sleep. Chloe was born in Ottawa on March 8, 1991 and is survived by her sister Alex, her parents Pauline and Daryl Graf, her grandmother Helen Graf, her grandfather Robert Blair and a large extended family. Chloe was a passionate advocate for the rights of the disabled as well as LGBTQ and women's rights. Chloe was pursuing a History degree at Carleton University and received the John and Carol Strong Book Prize for outstanding writing as well as numerous other awards for her writing and academic skills. Chloe was a kind and generous soul who supported animal welfare agencies overseas. As Chloe once wrote, "As a disabled woman, I am always glad to see organizations that view disabled lives—human or animal—as worth living [...] and we should endeavor to better the lives of those in need". Our thanks go out to the caring staff of CHEO and the Queensway Carleton hospitals and all her friends who helped Chloe through difficult times. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre (2500 Baseline Rd., Ottawa) on Wednesday, September 20th after 12:00 p.m. A celebration of Chloe’s life will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Interment and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Easter Seals, or the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada.
