<div itemprop="description">A life well lived; Charles was a pilot with the RAF in WWII. He then became a Professional Engineer (Marine) and worked for CN Steamship line and for Lloyds of London as a surveyor. From 1958 until 1974 he was head of the engineering department at the Canadian Coast Guard College, N.S. Playing Violin and gardening were his favourite pastimes. <br><br> He is predeceased by his first wife, Mildred Vaughn, their son, William Purvis and their daughter Virginia Fusco. He is survived by his wife Frances Purvis (MacLachlan), son in law Ron Fusco, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also survived by Elaine Robertson, Andy Robertson (Marilyn) and their children and grandchildren. <br><br>Friends are invited to visit at the Pinecrest Remembrance Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Monday, July 8 at 1 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at 2 p.m. followed by a reception. <br><br>For those who wish, donations can be made to the charity of your choice. <br></div>
