<div itemprop="description">Mehta, Chander Prabha <br>(nee Palli) <br>May 13, 1945 – July 19, 2018 <br>Died peacefully in Ottawa after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Jammu, India. She did her Bachelors of Education in Jammu and worked there as a math teacher. She moved to Pembroke, Ontario Canada in 1973 where she started her family. She developed strong ties in the community and worked at the Bank of Montreal from 1984 until her retirement in 2008. While retired she continued an active social life with friends, new and old, while spending a lot of time playing and teaching her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband Subhash Chander Mehta and was a devoted Mother to Rahul and Avnish. She will be dearly missed by her daughters-in-law Sangeeta (nee Shenoy) and Nisha (nee D'Mello) her granddaughters Reena, Anika, and Diya and grandsons Sachin and Krish. She is joined in heaven her late Father Sh. Pyare Lal Palli and her Mother Savitri Rani and late Father-in-law Pandit Ram Chander Shastri and Mother-in-law Ratni Devi (nee Bhardwaj) as well as siblings Balraj, Sham and Uma. She had a large loving family and will be missed by all. Her siblings (their spouses and children), brothers: late Balraj (Kanta), late Sham (Shivi, Nitan, Nidhi, Nitesh); Satish (Sneh, Sonal, Ashish, Muna) and Vinod (Bela, Aditi, Anshul). Sisters: late Uma (Vaid Prakash, Paramod, Shashi, Jai Prakash) and Brij Moni (late Ravinder, Sundeep, Surichi). She will be also be affectionately missed by her brothers-in-law: Sushil (Mridul, Chetna, Sumedha); Bharmaniam Bhaskar (Uma, Meenakshi, Ashish, Vagish); Chakarvarti Ashok (Prabha, Puneet, Rohitash); Yogish (Rashmi, Kushal, Ketan) and Rajnish (Monica, Sonal, Sulabh). Sisters : Padma (Om Prakash, Anuradha, Dev Prakash, Chandersekhar, Vinay); Kanta (Om Dutt, Umesh, Upama); Sudesh (Krishan Dev, Jaidev, Monika, Sonika) and Shashi (Rajinder, Ranjana, Deepak). She was a positive influence on everyone she met. Wherever she went she made friends and they became part of her family. Always kind, always caring, always thinking of others. A cremation will be held in Ottawa on July 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel-2500 Baseline Road Ottawa. A memorial service and Pooja will be held in Toronto on July 29, 2018.
