William “Cecil” LANDON
March 11, 1961 –November 8, 2017

It is with great sadness the family of Cecil Landon announces his passing at the age of 56, after his courageous battle with ALS.

Beloved husband of Kelly (nee Freeland) and loving father of Katie (Jacob Tolton) and Matthew and “Cheechee” to Scarlett. Cherished son of Esther Landon (late Ross Landon) and dear brother of Elnor Fransky (Cory Racine), Gloria Bronson (Dave), Barb Landon, Violet Fransky (Keith) and Wesley Landon (Lisa).

Cecil loved being surrounded by friends and family, especially in his kitchen. He could often be found there with something good cooking, a drink in his hand, music playing, and sports on in the background. Kitchen parties were his favourite and it was never long before the guitars would come out and Cecil would entertain for hours singing and playing guitar.

Cecil was an avid golfer and member of Kanata Golf and Country Club where he made many friends who were an important part of his life. Cecil also ran marathons (with his sister-in-law Liz), spent time curling, and enjoyed life to the fullest. Most importantly though, he was a family man who always put his children first.

Our family would like to thank the ALS Society and Clinic for all their support and friendship throughout these 10 months; for the care and assistance from the personal support workers, nurses and doctors from Champlain CCAC who became family and to the staff at the Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital who completed this journey with us.

We would also like to thank Cecil’s friends for their tireless support in taking care of all of us; we couldn’t have done it without you.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the ALS Society would be greatly appreciated (www.als.ca)

Long May You Run
