Carol Spicer
October 10, 1936 - December 19, 2018
Carol Spicer (nee Dion) 82, passed away surrounded by her family at home in Ottawa, on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. Carol is survived by (and mostly put up with) her four amazing kids: Ian (Veronica Farmer), Jean (Mike Beun) John, and Mary (Geordie Carruthers). She left a trail of mints for her grandchildren; Patrick, Caroline, Jessie, Greer, and Griffin, and was proud to call Suzo Hickey (Emma Kivisild) her West Coast daughter. Carol was predeceased by her husband Charles Lynch, parents Sydney and Edith Dion, brother Pierre Dion (Inger) sister Suzanne Kenny (Charlie), and by Jack Spicer, father to the amazing kids. Mum was always up for a good laugh and a pint, and would tell anyone who slowed down long enough that every single day after age 63 was a gift. Mum always called Dunrobin her home, and donations to the West Carleton Disaster Relief Fund in her memory would be appreciated. Many thanks to the caring staff at Robertson House and the nurses from St. Elizabeth’s. Family will receive friends on Monday January 7, 2019 at the Pinecrest Visitation Center (2500 Baseline Road Ottawa) from 6 to 8 p.m. A celebration of Carol's life will be held on Tuesday, January 8 in the Pinecrest chapel at 2 p.m. a reception will follow
