February 21, 1924 - August 19, 2017
Nora lived a good long life and passed away peacefully at the Rideau Perley with her daughters by her side holding her hand. Nora leaves behind three daughters, Linda (Bruce Compton), Sharon Lemoine, Holly Lemoine (Rocky Couture), her sisters Anne Barber and Mabel Burton and their families. Nora was the proud grandmother to 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her best friend and common-law husband, Donald Gosby, as well as her previous husband, Keith Brown. Nora worked for a time with the RCMP as a civil servant and then she trained as a Registered Nurses Aide and worked at the Perley and Civic hospitals caring for others. In her retirement years, she volunteered at The Good Companions and became a lifelong member, receiving a Community Builder Award from the United Way for her contribution as a volunteer for more than twenty years.
The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at the Perley for taking exceptionally good care of Nora while she was there. We would also like to thank the family of care givers at Elmsmere Villa Retirement Home where Nora lived for a year while she waited for an opening at the Perley. They made her a part of their family and kept her entertained, well fed and safe.

Visitation will be at Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, on Sunday, August 27 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road on Monday, August 28 at 11:00 a.m. Interment and reception will follow the service.
