SEABROOK, Fredrick Brett

It is with such sorrow we announce the passing of Brett, on Sept 4, 2017 at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital at the age of 54 years. Mourning him include his partner Patti Farr, his daughters Amber and Paige, his sister Lynn Joseph (Seabrook), brother Mark ( Gail VanDen Hanenberg ), nephews Richard, James and Mitchell, nieces Danielle and Tina and Will and Michael Farr.
Brett, together with Mark, were instrumental in shaping the Canadian Golf and Country Club following their Dad’s footsteps. As golf superintendent for 23 years, Brett worked hard and was part of the vision to see the Canadian evolve from a 9 hole facility which grew to 18 holes and again to 27 holes. His friendly attitude and quick-thinking humor was always appreciated both on and off the golf course.
In 2011 Brett moved to White Lake where he embraced the community and became the owner of the White Lake General Store where the slogan – Live Work and Play said it all. Together with dedicated hard working staff, they ensured the community and surrounding areas were well served 7 days a week. The Friday night bonfires with Patti and friends were always open for all to drop in and enjoy friendship and hospitality.
On behalf of the family, we would like to express sincere thank you to the Oncology treatment areas at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital, the Ottawa Hospital Greenberg Cancer Center at the QCH and the Ottawa Cancer Center for their expertise. Thank-you to Dr Derek Jonker who worked diligently to help Brett through a difficult diagnosis. A special thank you to the amazing care and compassion to both Brett and family from the Oncology Treatment Unit, Palliative care unit and the ER staff at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital during his final days.
Family and friends are invited to the Canadian Golf and Country Club on Sunday September 10, from 1-5 pm for a celebration of his life. As per Brett’s request, no funeral service, however come casual with good memories so we can all share in honoring the man he was.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation, being a sponsor or playing in our Tee It Up To Fight Cancer Tournament on Thursday Sept 21st 2017.

To make a donation or find out more about our tournament please follow the link below
https://canadiangolfclub.com/collections/tee-it-up-to-fight-cancer
