<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Barbara Ann McCaughey (nee Ezard), age 82. She left us peacefully at her home on Tuesday February 26, 2019, her loving husband at her side.<br><br>Born and raised in Cornwall Ontario, she graduated from the Ottawa Civic Hospital Nursing Program and practiced for many years looking after the needs of others with a warm smile and caring hands.<br><br>Beloved wife and best friend of Ronald H. McCaughey for over 60 years. Devoted mother of Michael (Dorothy), Kevin (Yingru), Bruce (Vanessa) and Carolyn (Randy). Cherished sister of Robert Ezard (Jean) and Judith Lappalainen (Larry) and sister in law to Christine Thompson (Hazen). Adored grandmother of Kathleen (Tyler), David, Brittany, Liam, Erin, Holly (Adam), Danielle (Dana), Matthew and Samantha. Great-grandmother to Amelia, Lucas, Penelope, Phoenix and Declan. Favourite Aunt of Jason, Bill, Jennifer, Debbie, John, Patti, Cathy, Robert, Jim, Lynn and Karen. Cousin of Barbara Powney. Predeceased by her parents Beatrice and Lloyd Ezard and granddaughter Shannon (Adam).<br><br>She will be dearly missed by her close friends of over 45 years who she enjoyed playing bridge and sharing gourmet dinners with. She always had a welcoming smile and her sense of humor brightened the day of all around her. <br><br>A visitation will be held on Monday, March 4, 2019 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm at Pinecrest Visitation Center, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 1:00pm followed by a reception also at Pinecrest Visitation Center.<br><br>In lieu of flowers, donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
