<div itemprop="description">It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Athanasios “Tom” Nantsios, 82, peacefully on May 8th, 2018 at the Civic Hospital with his loving wife Soula by his side. Adoring and devoted father to Nico, Eoanna (Demetri) and proud grandfather to Oksana. Tom was predeceased by his parents Nikolaos and Ekaterini (nee Karakasis) Nantsios and sister Malamati “Matoula” Nantsios. Dear brother to Konstantinos (Renata) and Alexandros (Voula). He will also be deeply missed by his aunt, many cousins, nieces, nephews and all those he touched. <br> <br>Tom was described by most as a gentle soul who had an infectious smile and a generous heart. He had a zeal for life and enjoyed celebrating precious moments. <br> <br>He immigrated to Canada in 1952, at the young age of 16, and through difficult times had the tenacity and determination to persevere and provide for his family. <br> <br>Tom was a devoted husband and dedicated father. He took pride in his many achievements. He was a successful businessman and the proud co-owner of the El Toro Restaurant and Alexis Dining Lounge. He was an active member of the GOYA, AHEPA, and the Hellenic Community Centre of Ottawa. Tom was a mentor to many and inspired numerous in his community. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Hellenic Centre (Greek Orthodox Church) or the Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated.<br> <br> <br> <br></div>
